I visited PT Foundry today. Information on the history, process and products can be found on their website …. take a look. The emphasis on environmentalism is quite impressive and a central commitment.

Pete (owner) gave Clint and I a full tour and described the process. They fabricated a bow roller and anchor for Nonchalant.

the bow roller slides out to create clearance for the anchor so it does not come in contact with the hull while deploying and retrieving. It slides back when the anchor is being stowed.
PT foundry also fabricated a custom strut/bearing for the driveline shaft.

in the picture below Pete is showing us the wooden model of the strut that was fabricated to create the mold.

Bits of art really. You best never get that anchor stuck! Love the extendable bow roller.
if you ever get to port townsend you would really enjoy a visit to the foundry. So much history there – molds that are over 100 years old!
Very cool! Looks like a fascinating place.
Beautiful casting quality.
